Ingredients
  

For the Filling

  • 2 cups apples, peeled and diced Use a mix of sweet and tart apples for better flavor.
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice

For the Pastry

  • 1 package puff pastry (2 sheets)
  • 1 egg for egg wash
  • 1 tablespoon butter For greasing the baking sheet.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Grease a baking sheet with butter.
  • In a bowl, combine the diced apples, sugar, cinnamon, and lemon juice. Mix well.
  • Roll out the puff pastry sheets on a floured surface and cut them into squares (about 4x4 inches).
  • Place a spoonful of the apple mixture in the center of each square.
  • Fold the pastry over to form a triangle and seal the edges by crimping with a fork.
  • Brush the tops with beaten egg for a golden finish.

Baking

  • Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
  • Allow to cool before serving.

Notes

Serve warm, optionally with vanilla ice cream, powdered sugar, or caramel sauce. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to two days or in the refrigerator for up to a week. Reheat in the oven for best texture. For variations, consider adding nuts or spices.
